"Cab tire" wire

Just bought some for my welder. My question is where did this name derive from?

For those 'south of the border' who might be unfamiliar with the term, 'cabtire' is Canuk for heavy duty flexible line cord, eg SOW.

No, I don't know the derivation of the name.

Haha I had no idea it was a Canadian thing.

I was recently down in the States and found out there are lots of Canadian "terms".
