useing red wire from 3wire with groud?
#1

I am rewiring house to up grade old 2 wire with no ground wire.
I have installed a 3 wire with ground 12 gage (black, red, white and ground wire) I am nort using the red wire for anything right now but would like to use that red wire for another hot wire.
My question is can I use the same white and ground wire which is hooked up to main circiute breaker box for basement outlets.
I would like to continue the red wire (which is not in use but goes from main breaker to a junction box located in center of house) for outlets on first floor.

How do you mean "use" the red wire?
Do you intend to hook this red wire up in the circuit breaker panel? If so, you will have a multiwire circuit. Multiwire circuits require special care to make sure that you do not violate code and.or create an unsafe (potentially life threatening) situation.
