aluminum wire

When changing a switch, I found that the line was an aluminum wire rather than a copper one. It seems to be only one line. Is this a huge problem? Should I rewire the circuit? Comments appreciated. -pwdarrah

Make sure you're not mistaking tinned copper for aluminum. Then use a switch and wire nuts approved for aluminum.

I'm assuming you're just changing the switch to get a different color. If there's more to your project than that, let us know.
