repair electrical outlet

Last night we had storm and I forgot to unplug an outdoor electrical power cord. when I got up this morning, the fountain wasn't working and I had no power in the outlet. I tested it by plugging a light into it and I also checked the box to make sure it had not tripped. Everything was fine but I re-tripped the switch anyway just to make sure. I still have no power. What should be my next step...call and electrician? Any help would be appreciated.

Find the GFCI that provides power to the receptacle and make sure that it is reset.

Assuming it is reset, look at the wiring at the receptacle adn make sure that it is intact, and that it has power.

What racraft said. Outdoor outlets should be GFCI protected. In the last couple of houses I've owned, they were fed from the GFCI in one of the bathrooms.

Would the GFCI be under the house?

Could be. Could be just about anywhere.
