Earthing TV Aerial Mast

Recently I erected a TV Aerial Mast, some fifteen feet above roof, with appropriate guy wires to hold it steady in bad weather. Do I need to earth the mast? And how do I best go about this. I have earthed items before but would like instructions on the best approach. Thanks

I can tell you what I have done but I'm not sure it's 100% NEC safe. Run a ground wire in proper insulated stand-offs to a ground rod below the antenna for lighting protection. Bring the wire in in the same general area that the electrical comes in and use a grounding lug to ground the shield of this cable to the main electrical ground. The antenna ground rod may need to be bonded to the electrical ground, but I'm not sure.
