Matching Meter Panel to Meter

Swapping out 1950's meter box with a combination meter/breaker box.
Can anyone tell me if the meter shown in this picture will match a new meter box rated at 150 amp?

http://pglink.com/breaker/meter.htm

thank you

Will

typically the utility company is responsible for the meter. I think that you need to check with them about which type of meter base they require. They will want to match the base to the type of meters that they already use.

In Pa the contractor is resposible for everything but the meter itself. When I do a service upgrade we put the existing meter in the new socket. You should check with the utility.

The meter in the picture is a class 200 (200 amp) modern style socket style meter. I'm sure PSColorado would use it back in either a 150 or even a 200 amp socket.

The number in the "Class" designation refers to amps? I think that's good info. Thank you

Thank You txdiyguy !
I believe that's what I needed to know.

Its been a little bit of a hassle getting thru to Excel Energy - long hold times and "mis-communication".

Thanks everybody
