Telephone wiring....

I am needing to replace the telephone wiring on the side of my house. Everytime it rains our phone don't work properly and my best guess is the rain is shorting out the wiring because the Phone Co says its fine to the box.

Now my question....

What is the exact wire that I need to use to replace this wiring?? 24/4 Telephone station sire???

Any guidence would be greatly appreciated.

Phone wiring isn't all that particular. Your easiest choice though, would be to pick up a box of Cat5e cable from your local home improvement place. It's much higher quality than the bare minimum you need for phone, but it is what is used in quality new-home installations nowdays. Any home improvement warehouse should have lots and lots of it in stock.

Otherwise, 24-4 "bell" wire will work fine.
