You have a loose connection, in your panel or in the power company's supply lines. Call the power company first--tonight!! They work 24x7. This is dangerous. They should come out tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. Some (less than customer friendly) power companies will insist that you have an electrician check out your side first. If so, call an electrician first thing tomorrow morning. Otherwise, save your money and let the power company check it out first.

thanx for the tip. think I found it. went outside to the main post where my home plugs into the box. plug was warm but not hot. pulled the plug and found one of the connectors is black and burnt. shined a flashlight into the corresponding slot, same thing. going to unplug things for the night and go stay with some friends. ( better safe than sorry ) get it fixed first thing in the am.
