Adding 50amp breaker to subpanel

I am running a new 220 line to a 50amp breaker for a range. An electrician is coming to do the hookup.

The main panel is full. It is outside. We have a subpanel in the house with space/rooom. Is there any problem with leaving the exising 30amp breaker and outlet (it won't be used and hidden by cabinets) and adding the 220/50amp breaker to the subpanel?

No problem that I'm aware of but I would at least remove the wires from the shut off breaker and tape the ends. Also tag the wires as to what they fed so the future residents will know.
