Wire Size

I am installing a new circuit for a window air conditioner length of run 55 ft
using 10/2w ground voltage @ the ac willbe 117.2 would this b acceptable or should I go to number 10 wire.

117.2 is okay, assuming that this isn't a 240-volt circuit. But I was confused because your post mentions #10 wire twice.

How many amps does the A/C actually draw? I think maybe you put 20 amps into the voltage drop calculator because the A/C said to put it on a 20-amp circuit. You should use the actual draw.

Sorry for the error sh have written plan on using 12/2 The unit draws 13ampsusing the voltage drop calculator this gave me the 117.2 voltage .Additional question does the amperage drop in same ratio as the voltage in this case 2.8%

12/2 w/ ground should be fine. You might want to run this circuit independently. Don't borrow power from an outlet or anything since the air conditioner will surge when the compressor starts.

As voltage drops, so does the amperage, in approximately the same percentage. But in the numbers we're talking here, it is not material.
