115 or 230 circuit.

I have a circuit running out to a SPA.
The pump has died and I'm trying to get a new one, the pump says 115/230, but I'm not sure what the circuit is wired at.

There are 3 wires coming into the pump a White, Black and Cooper.
When I test the White and Cooper with a voltmeter I get 115.
When I test the Black and Cooper with a voltmeter I get 115.

So I'm guessing the circuit is a 230.
Would I be correct in this assimption.

(I know don't assume, that's whay I'm posting this question.)

Thanks,

Rainbow

That sounds like a valid assumption. However, it would be much easier to look at the circuit breaker feeding the circuit. Is it a 220 volt breaker, or a 110 volt breaker?
