Bushings

Hi!

I running EMT conduit in my garage addition and had a question about the use of bushings in the fittings in the boxes. Are bushings required by the NEC? If not, is it a good practice to use them anyway? The Village will be inspecting the roughed in work next week. Thanks.

I always prefer to use bushings in conduit fittings especially if the conduit will be subject to any kind of vibration. They are inexpensive and a little added insurance is always worth it to me. I have seen minimal vibration cause the sharp edges on conduit fittings to wear through the wire insulation.
