Main box amperage?

Main box amperage?
I see alot of posts regarding various main box amperages (100, 200, et al), I looked at my panel and the only reference I see is 125A. I tried simply counting the amperages on separate breakers, but I don't believe that is the solution to determining the amperage -- can someone explain?
Thanks, G

As you have discovered, you cannot add up the sum of the breakers.
Look at the main breaker protecting the box. If there is no main braker in the panel then it may be at the meter. This will tell you the present rating for the box. The label on the box will tell you what the box itself can be used for.
