Question installing wattmeter on generator transfer switch

I took everyones advise and installed a transfer switch for my new 8000 watt generator. The switch I used is a double throw switch .I want to install a wattmeter so I will not over load the unit .I need information as to basics of the proper installation.(what meter, where to install ,etc). The gen is rated @55amps @ 120 volts and 27.5 amps @220 volts . Any help would be appreciated

Install a 7.5kW watt meter minimum, such as http://www.nooutage.com/mb75.htm
It would go on the load side (output) of the transfer switch.
