Electric shower switch is broken

I have an electric shower and the pull on/off chord for hot water has broken (the shower works but only lets out cold water.) do i just need a new switch? Ive tried to take the paned off the wall but it is all moulded plastic and I cant seem to find the switch that is broken

Never heard of an electric shower before, thats a scary thought.

Where on the net can we go to learn about this system?

Plumber2000, Search on "electric shower". We don't see them much in the US. Instant water heater connected directly to a shower. Some are even built into the shower head.

Sarah1978, Is the pull-cord still connected to the unit? Can you give us a brand and model number? This might be better posted in the appliance forum, but the majority of us in both forums are in the US and not familiar enough with this to be of much help.
