connecting a ceiling fan and light to three way swithces
I am trying to connect a fan to a box that has three wire going into from 2 switches, there are 2 reds, 2 black and 2 white,

What is/was there before? How is/was it connected?
Given enough time and testing, we can solve this without the above information, but it will be a hundred times faster to do so if you give us that information.

Hmm, I'll try my hand and add 2 cents in.
At least one of those white wires should have a black mark on it. Either some tape or ink or paint. That's a traveler. Then pull the face plates off of the switches and look inside, see if you can spot a similar black mark on one of the white wires there. Do this with power at the breaker off, it you have any doubts about your ability to be safe while working on the circuit.
Also, note which switches have extra wires comming in. At least one switch must (assuming that there's no extra wires at the fan beyond what you've said above). If we're very lucky, the other switch will only have one cable with black, white and red and we'll be set.
