Replacing Ceiling Fan Timer Switch

Replacing Ceiling Fan Timer Switch
I am replacing a ceiling fan timer switch. I have a three wire cable going into the box: black, white and unshielded. The old timer had only two terminals but the new timer switch has four terminals: Load 1, Line 1, Load 2, and Line 2. (On the back of the switch, Load 1 is also notated as "NO", Line 1 as "C", Load 2 as "NC", and Line 2 as "C".) I am assuming that I would connect the black to Load 1 and the white to Line 1. (The unshielded wire is alreaded connected to the box.) Can anyone tell me if that is the correct way to wire it, or is the switch unsuitible for my wiring? Thanks in advance.

NO is normally open or off.
NC is normally closed or on.
You could this timer to control how long a fan stays on. Use the NO for this. The contacts ore normally off and turn on when the timer runs.

Or maybe it exactly the revese. Connect the wires as you suspect and if the fan works opposite of what you want use the opposite set of contacts.
