Shop Lighting

I have an 800 squre foot shop with 15' ceilings.

Other than the 8' florescent lighting, what would be the best options??

Willing to spend a more for very good lighting.

Thanks

My opinion is that the 8' fluorescents would be your best bet. Another option is low-bay metal halide fixtures, but they cost a bunch.

You'll still be paying a bunch for good 8' fluorescent fixtures.

I just finished converting a small warehouse over to high-bay MH lighting. Each 400W high-bay replaced two 8' double-tube fixtures... and put out 50% more light. Figure that into your costing. Installation is nicer too... they just hang from a large eye-bolt you can mount in advance. Here's an example:

Also, 400 watt metal halide fixtures are frequently sold new and used on ebay. I've gotten them for $60 new and $30 used. They last forever anyway so buying used is not a problem.
