Ground Knob and Tube wiring?

I just ran across a statement that Knob and Tube wiring "Cannot be grounded". Does this mean just at the main box? Or does it mean that it's also unsafe to ground at the outlet/switch boxes?

For the effort involved in installing a Code compliant grounding method it would be much better to install new wiring.

To properly ground a knob a tube you need to run wire al the way back to panel. Might as well pull whole new cable.
