receptacle question
I removed the receptacle covers in my den and cleaned them . Once they were replaced, only the bottom receptacle of the outlet works. Help!

Is this every receptacle in the room? Only one or two?
If you rule out a switch being turned off, then you must have caused a wire to come loose. Most likely you have back stabbed connections, and you bumped the receptacle with the vacuum cleaner nozzle, causing a wire to come loose from the receptacle or from a wire nut.
If this is the case, you will have to investigate and find the problem. Note that it may not be at the receptacle(s) that is(are) out. It may be at the previous receptacle that works, or at the switch.
