Added new circuit, but forgot an outlet
I added a circuit to my basement, with all outlets
run in series.
Can I branch off one of the outlets in the
middle to add another outlet I forgot I had to install,
or does it have to be added to the end of the series?

You should be able to branch
off from the outlet in the middle. Just remember that you can't have more than one wire underneath the screws on the outlet, you'll need to pigail the incoming power wires.
Hope this helps!

You can run your extra receptacle from any of the existing receptacles.
You shouldn't use the term series when referring to how you ran your receptacles. You will confuse some people.
