adding a receptacle

I want to add a receptacle in my bedroom. Is it possible for me to get my power for the receptacle from my ceiling fan (which is controlled by a switch) without the switch controlling the receptacle. In other words I want the receptacle to always hot. Thanks

That depends. How man wires are in the ceiling box where the fan is attached?

You can't get power from the ceiling fan box, but you probably can from the switch box, or from any other receptacle box in the room, or from probably a dozen other places.
