Question Help me wire this electric motor

Hi all!

I want to build outdoor type of grill,
I found this garage door motor that is 115V 50HZ 4.5A 1100RPM Link
since this is too fast I need to bring rpm's down,
I found this speed control in a local store Link
I'm not sure if those 2 gonna work together and I don't understand why there's 4 wires coming out motor
and how I should wire those to the speed controller
any help is appreciated

The speed controller you linked to is meant for controlling brush type motors, the kind that are used for electric drills and circular saw type tools.
The motor you have is not that type of motor so the controller won't work.

You will need to use a belt arangement or a gearbox to slow it down.
The speed you would likely want the spit to turn if this is the style of bbq you are making, would only be about 5 rpm.
Unless you use an expensive frequency speed controller, making the motor go slower is not the way to go.

I shelved plans awhile back to build one to fit a whole hog and had a small surplus gearbox/motor combination picked out to do the turning.

Hard to say exactly what the wires connect to without a wiring diagram but they are likely for either power, reversing and/or a capacitor.

The speed controller you located is for a universal type motor. You see those types of motors in electric drills. The picture you posted is a capactor start induction motor. That's why you have four leads. Two of the leads go to the capacitor and two of the leads are for the AC line. You won't have any luck trying to get the that motor to run at anything other than the rated speed.

thanks guys for the replies,

I thought about putting together something like bicycle's chain and sprocket
but even with that its gonna be way fast then what I need,
I guess my last most cheapest idea would be to use bicycle's wheel with
an electric drill kinda lean to the wheel tire,
its gonna look funny but it works , actually I've seen it in work
