Dimming circuit with 3 switches

I would like to add a dimmer to a circuit of lights controlled by 3 switches. Will three-way dimmer work, and if so, in any particular location?
Thanks

Controlling a circuit from three locations means that there are two 3-way switches and one 4-way switch. Dimmers come in 2-way and 3-way varieties, but not in 4-way.

Buy a 3-way dimmer and replace either of the 3 way switches in the current setup. Pick the 3-way that is most convenient for controlling the dimming level. You will be able to turn the lights on and off from any of the three locations, but you will only be able to adjust the light level from the position with the dimmer.

4-way dimmer

Are you familiar with X-10, they are cheap (not price but quality) gagits but they do allow some unique solutions. There is a 4-way X-10 dimmer avaliable... just search for X-10, there are several supplier and manufactures of this junk, I mean equipment.
