Outlet is not working

Last week a water pipe burst in the basement and since then have repaired the pipe.. but one of the outlets which is a GFI switch no longer works and it powered the refrigerator in the basement...but there is another GFI switch near the area of the water damage but is still operable ...what happened...my husband decided to plug the refrigerator into the other outlet.

Did you reset the GCFI outlet?

In other words, did you push the little "reset" button on the face of the receptacle that's not working? Also, if there is still moisture on the wiring in that receptacle box, the reset may not reset. And if drying it out (with the circuit breaker turned off) does not enable you to reset that GFCI receptacle, from time to time a water problem will render the GFCI useless and it will have to be replaced.
