Hi Folks, I am new to this forum and it looks like there are a lot of knowledgeable people here. So, I have a question for you. I am in the process of having a new house built in Canada. They are just roughing in the wiring right now. What I want to do is put in a couple of empty conduits running from the basement up to the attic to accommodate any future wiring that I may want to do on the second floor or in the attic/roof etc. I want the ability to run 110v power as well as phone, internet, security and coax cable through these conduits. What I am wondering is: 1) Is it legal to run regular non metallic wire in a conduit? 2) Can any of the above mentioned wires be run in the same conduit without interference? (i.e. will a phone line interfere with a satellite signal?) I am quite sure power needs to be run in its own conduit. Correct? 3) Is metal or plastic the better choice for any of these wire types? I'm trying to decide which is the positive and which is the neutral on a plug cord for the dishwasher. One side is textured the length of the wire with ribs and the other side is smooth. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance,
