Textured vs. Smooth plug wire

I'm trying to decide which is the positive and which is the neutral on a plug cord for the dishwasher.

One side is textured the length of the wire with ribs and the other side is smooth.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ribbed side should be connected to the large prong and is the neutral.

joed,

Thanks.

There is no wide prong on the plug, but the wide slot in the wall corresponds to the ribbed side.

I'll give it a go.

Wide slot is the neutral. If there is no wide prong the it is not relevant since it can be plugged in either way.
