Question Old Equipment

From what I have read I can replace an older single pole 30 amp Cutler Hammer breaker taking up 2 inches of box space with the one below. This will allow room for another 15 amp 3/4 inch breaker in the box as long as I do not exceed the max allowed for the panel.

Is this correct? Am I missing something?

(1 Pole 30 Amp Circuit Breaker by Cutler Hammer
Circuit Breakers Plug-On - Single Pole - Type Ch 3/4`` Per Pole Amps=30 =
sku: 6066377 Factory: Cutler Hammer # CH130
)

Respectfully,

If the panel allows you to use "skinny" or half width breakers than it should be ok.

Is it really single pole?

I have never seen a single pole breaker that was two inches wide. How many conductors are terminated on that breaker? How many terminals for wires does that breaker have?

Tom is right... 2" breakers are double-pole breakers used to supply 220V. Those you can't touch, you need to replace a single breaker (1" wide) with 2 half width (1/2" wide) breakers. I'm not that familiar with CH panels, so I'm not sure if your particular panel will accept these breakers.

What is the breaker in question supplying?

Checked

I checked closer and you are right it must be a 220v it goes to the electric range. I got out a flashlight and I think there is one 1/2 inch slot I can use if I need to.

Thanks
