Help wiring two pole thermostat

I need help wiring a two pole thermostat to my baseboard electric heater.

The thermostat has two red wires, two black wires, one green wire. The red wires are on the same side, the black wires are on the other side. One red wire is connected to the top connection, the other red wire is connected to the bottom connection. Same with the black wires.

My line has one white, one black, one ground wire.

My baseboard heater has one green wire, two black wires.

The direction from Marley look like you wire line one from the wall to one black on the thermostat, the other line from the wall to the second black. It looks like the black wires from the heater are connected to the red wires on the thermostat.

Appreciate any help I can get.

I assume you are feeding 220V (off a 2 pole breaker in the panel). If that's the case, the black/white get connected to the load terminals on the Tstat (probably red, but check with the instructions). The other 2 terminals off the Tstat go to the black wired on the heater. The ground of course goes to the ground wire.

Just make sure you do have 220V between the black and white wires.

I made a small mistake.

The black/white go to the LINE terminals on the T-stat. The heater conductors (2 blacks) go to the LOAD terminals. The ground (green) goes to the ground wire.

Again, make sure you have 220V between the black and white supply lines.

Thanks Trinitro,

Yes I have 220 or 240 volts.

You said the black and white from the wall go to the line terminals on the t-stat. Are they red or black? You also said the two wires from the heater go to the load terminals. Which terminals are the load terminals?

Thanks

You need to look at the thermostat documentation. Sometimes it doesn't matter. Sometimes it does. The documentation will tell you.

Look on the back of the T-stat. It will tell you which is which.
