Celing fan motor

Does anyone know a rough guess on how many watts or amps a celing fan uses. Im in question about the fan motor , ill add the watts from the lights on top of the watts from the fan motor

Hi tmccabe,
- most ceiling fans have very low amp ratings. Two I installed this month were 0.6 amps, an average size, 3 speed house ceiling fan, with 4 -16 " blades, and 0.93 amps for a very large house ceiling fan with 6 -24" blades.

The fans I usually install use 65 watts on high speed.

-so they take 0.6 amps of the power. I guess that's average for most house fans ? The 100 watt one I mentioned was a Monster, and way up in a 16ft 'cathedral' ceiling (not comfortable ladder work)
