Not much to go on. More detail and history would improve the guesses, but let's just cover the basics. There are a lot of possiblities. Check these three first:
  1. Replace the bulb.
  2. Replace the fuse even if it doesn't look blown, or turn the breaker off and back on even if it doesn't look tripped.
  3. Shut off the breaker or remove the fuse and replace the switch.
If these three fail, post back and tell us more about the light, the switch, the fuse or breaker, the year the house was built, when this stopped working, what city you live in, what year the house was built, and whether you have any other electrical problems in the house. Are both lights controlled by the same switch or different switches? How far apart are the switches and/or fixtures?

John,

Thanks for the time to post your thoughts, I am a novice here but will answer a few more questions.

1) I did do the breakers many times including the main breaker
2) bulb is not the issue as all switches are affected

The house was built 10 years ago just outside of Phoenix AZ and I have had no other electrical problems. This happened about six months ago and then it just started working again with no intervention.

Lastly, different switch panels, each switch panel has three switches. The panel in the office controls two lights and a fan. The panel in the front controls three sets of lights (all are not working).

Regards,

Matt

Are all the lights on the same circuit? Are any receptacles dead?

John,

I am a novice so please advise how I can confirm if

1) all the lights are on the same circuit?
2) if receptacles = outlets yes the ones on 1/2 of my office and the living room by the front hallway.

Regards,

DBK
