220 back to 110

my living room airconditioner outlet was 110 ,but when my house was redone 2 years ago the electrician wired the ac outlet with 10ga wire,in case i ever wanted to go to a 220 ac unit.well i did ,and the outlet was changed, and a 220 30amp break put in.i have a 2 wire bx system,so the neutral was taken off the nuetral bar in the break box and connected to the breaker along with the hot wire.(white and black wire both connected to the 220 breaker).

now i want to go back to a 110 unit,so im going to put back the 110 breaker and hook the white wire back to the neutral bar in the breaker box and the hot wire to the breaker, and change the outlet..
also we had to put a double 15 amp 110 breaker to make room for the 220 breaker,so rather then leave a blank open space in the box im going to split that double 110 breaker back to 2 single 110 15 amp breakers,so all the slots are used on the panel rather then having one just opened.
does all this seem right ,want to make sure before i do anything..

I would just leave the tandem breaker in place (there is no need to replace it) and then install either a blank cover or a 20 amp breaker in the now empty spot.

good call, you never know when you may want those spots for another 220v outlet or 2 circuits for future use.

thanks guys..im going to take the wires off the 220 breaker and leave it in,and use a tamden 110 breaker to hook up the ac outlet...im waiting for my electrician to give me back a quote on running a sub panel into my detached garage, and im sure he could use the 220 breaker slot for the sub panel hook up....thanks again
