Electrical cord

I want to purchase a electricl console heater, can you use a certain electrical cord with a electrical heater and is it safe? thanks

You need to determine the current rating of the heater, then get a cord rated very conservatively to handle that current. Remember, a heater is a more or less continuous load; different that a toaster or hair dryer. So, heating of the cord is an issue. You also need a very heavy duty plug. AND, depending on exactly how the cord is connected to the device, the conductors may need to carry a high temp. rating.

Go to a good electrical supply house for recommendations.

thanks alot, I think I better just try to plug it in the wall. That way I won't have to worry. Thanks again.
