Electrical lighting

I have an area I need to in install 5 way switching to a light fixture. Can anyone give me direction to do this? I know it will need a number of 4 way switches and 3 ways but I do not know the order to put them. Thanks

switching

Rule of thumb I use is to have your 3-ways at the furthest locations and fill in the middle with 4-ways. Start your run with a 3 way and end it with a 3-way... hope it makes sense.. Do you know how to wire a 3-way? There are several different ways, but practical ones dependant on where power is fed and where the load to the lights are located.

You need two 3 way switches, and three 4 way switches. Electrically the 4 way switches are between the 3 way switches.
