How do I use feed thru lugs

More lug questions. What exactly are feed thru lugs and how do I use them. Is there something I can bolt onto the main buses or is that what feed thru lugs are. sorry for all the lug questions, but every GE, Culter, Square D catalog I have doesn't explain things this basic. All my electrical course/text books just mention meter/combos as examples.

A mobile home panel is an example of a feed thru lug panel. there is a lug bolted to the bottom of ea buss. When you connect a circuit to these lugs it is protected by the main breaker, in effect giving you a full 200a circuit.

Like Jedi9 said, there should a lug at the bottom of each hot bus, if the panel was designed to feed through. However, in my experience I have only heard these referred to as "sub-feed lugs". Some mfr's offer a sub-feed lug kit. Ordinarily these are used to feed a sub-panel when you are out of breaker spaces. I agree that the sub-feed lugs are protected by the main breaker.
