ceiling fan installation

here is my dilema wires from ceiling are black,red, white and a bare copper ground. ceiling fan wires are black(motor),white and Blue (light kit)

i'm thinking black to black, red to blue, white to white and green ground on fan mounting bracket to bare copper

any suggestions

Yes, it will work, but you may have to switch the red and black wires in the ceiling, depending on which wall switch you want to work the fan and which you want to work the light. My wife likes the fan to work off the farthest switch to the right, in my house, the electrician had used the red wire as the hot wire from that switch, but depending on how your electrician did it, it may be different at your house.

Do you have two switches that provide power to this connection, or only one switch?

Are there any other wires in the ceiling box?
