Question Light Popping?

I installed a light and when I have it on I hear a popping noise every once and a while. Can anyone tell me what this is? Is it the fixture? the bulb? or how I have it wired? Is it something I need to worry about?

I don't have much to go on, but I'll guess that the heat from the lamp is causing some metal part of the lamp to expand, creating the popping sound. So I'm guessing that it's mechanical, not electrical. If it starts sounding like Snap and Crackle rather than Pop, then it might be electrical.

Make sure that the wattage of the bulb you are using does not exceed the specified limit of the fixture. When in doubt, don't go above 60 watts.
