220V for outside halogen light

Hello, I have a 220v exterior halogen light but the light only contains a black, white and ground (bare) wire. How do I get 220v to this with just one hot?

Thanks!!

A black and white wire is enough. A white wire can be hot. Do you have a 220-volt circuit to connect it to? But it sounds like this might be a European fixture that you plan to install in North America. If so, that's not a good idea.

It's only hooked up to 110 right now, I don't have a 220 going directly to it yet but I wanted to make sure I did it right. Thanks for the info. It is an American light (I assume) Regent 1500 watt halogen from Home Depot.
