New outdoor lighting

Hi,
We don't have any lights in our back yard & side yard, no outlets nothing. We need lights out there, but can't pay the hefty charges for an electrician (inquired & was quoted $500 min!!!) Is it something we can do by ourself. The only outlet outside is in the front porch, about 30 feet away from the location we want the light. Ideally I would like some wireless stuff (is there something like that for outdoor lighting ?) so that there is no risk of bad wiring etc, but any other feasible do it ourself ideas pls:..

Thanks in advance.

Wireless electricity? Now that would be something! Unfortunately, electricity needs wires to travel on.

Batteries. Small generator. Solar.

If $500 is too much, and time is more plentiful than money, I suggest you read several books on home wiring. They are available at your local public library. After you read them, you may get an idea as to whether or not you could run the wire yourself. If you could, it might cost something more like $20 than $500.
