whirlpool tub 240 3 or 4 wire

I am installing a new kohler whirlpool tub model K-1457-G. My question is do I run 3 or 4 wire 240? There literature is vague. any help would be great. Thanks, MP

The literature will not tell you what type of wire to run. You need to figure that out according to the voltage and amperage of the unit.


What are the specs of the unit? Voltage and amperage.

This link shows your spec and required electrical service. Looks like it calls for a dedicated 15 amp 240 volt service. This would be a 14 awg copper 3 wire circuit....2 hots and ground. You are also required to protect the circuit at the panel with a double pole 15 amp gfci breaker or elcb breaker.
