Aluminum backstab receptacle

Aluminum backstab receptacle

I just remove a backstab receptacle from a circuit with aluminum wiring. The receptacle was actually stamped CU-AL. There are not even screws on this receptacle.
I think I'll hang on to this for a souvenier.

If your question is do they make back-stab only devices for AL the answer is no.

NO actual question. Just pointing out that at one time they actually made backstab rated for aluminum wire. How dangerous is that not that we know better.

NO manufacturer name. Says made in canada, use #14 or #12 solid wire, where to insert black and white wires, a strip guage and wire release indicator. On front it has CSA stamp and 15 amp 120 volt.

Iv'e nver seen Al rated receptacle for backstab only connections

Maybe you could sell it on Ebay - "rare vintage fire starter"
