Wireing in a dryer

Ok I got the 8 gauge wire and the 30amp special outlet for the dryer, the breaker as well. Now I need to know which color of wire goes where on the panel and the outlet.

We can't tell you which color goes where unless you tell us what color wires you have.

Oops! Black,Red,White. On the breaker I am sure you hook up the black and red while running the white to the common bar(right?) On the outlet do you put the black and red on either side and the white in the middle? It is a 3 prong outlet.

It is against code to install a three wire dryer receptacle. Any new installation must be a four wire type.
