Hot Tub Wiring Code

I hear that it is now code (Ontario Canada) that a quick disconnect is required outside the house , no different than the A/c unit. Is this correct?

Do you mean a whole house disconnect? I have not heard of that rule.

No a quick disconnect for just that circuit. This eliviates the need to go into the house to turn the circuit off when working on the hot tub.

I don't know about Canada, but this is a common code in the US. Most any piece of equipment needs some sort of local disconnect. Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but for spas we do have the requirement.

I missed the hot tub part of the question in the subject line.
I can say I don't know for sure.

Here in VA we usually install a circuit breaker GFCI 60A disconnect near the hot tub and wire it direct from the disconnect. We also own a spa dealership and have been wiring them in VA this way for years.
