Mystery: TV only works in certain outlets
Hi. I have a strange problem. My TV has worked in the same place, in the same outlet for a year or so now. But all of the sudden it stopped working in that outlet, while the DVD player still works in that outlet. The TV does not work in either plug, but the DVD player works in both plugs in the outlet. Other things work in both plugs, but not the TV. The TV works fine in any other outlet I plug it into, but not this outlet all of the sudden. Does anyone have any idea of why this is happening? The only thing that I did differently before it got messed up, was that I was trying to program the TV remote to work with DVD player, but that shouldn't affect the TV like this should it? I can't think of any explanation for this weird problem. Anybody have any explanations or ideas of what to do so I can plug the TV into this outlet again?

And when you do, don't just push the wires (backSTAB) into the little holes in the back. Better to use the screws on the side. Now, having said that, there are outlets that are backWIRED, meaning you put the wires into the back then tighten screws on the side to hold or clamp the wires. Those are good way to go also.
