Dimmer swith and light together

I have a dimmer switch for my bathroom light that also controls an electrical outlet attached. These are both part of a combination lighting/outlet unit.
Can I use the electrical outlet, if the dimmer switch is turned all the way up and I unplug the appliance when I am not around? Thank you for any help you can provide.

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't. Even turned all the way up, I don't think you can be sure that the dimmer is producing a good sine wave of voltage. On the other hand, depending on the appliance, it probably doesn't hurt much. But I wouldn't anyway.

I would try to rewire such that you have a receptacle not controlled by the dimmer. A dimmer-controlled receptacle violates the electrical code anyway.
