installing condensor unit
hi,
I bought a new town home but did not get the ac from the builder as he was charging $3000 for 10 seer rating equipment. Now i want to get it installed and am looking for advice about where to buy and any contractors. The size of my unit is 1560 sq ft. It is a 2 sotrey building and the property is in bay area, ca.
Prw wiring for AC is already in place.

I suspect that the advice you get in the Air Conditioning forum (where you also posted this question) will be more comprehensive than what you get here. Depending on how much you use the A/C, and what kind of rebates for high-SEER units might be available in your area, the 10-SEER unit might be a better buy, even though it is currently far from the most efficient you can buy. Depending on area, 10-SEER units will not even be available much longer as requirements for higher SEER units come into effect.
