Electric/Lighting around pools

I have an inground pool at the far ens of the back yard that has five/six feet from the end of the property. Our thoughts was to put some accent lighting using 12volt lighting to hang along the fence. Every low voltage light I have read says to not place within 10 feet of the pool.

Here is the question.
Should I run regular 120volt and put regualr lighting. Is there special lighting for these situaions.

The newer solar-powered lights are really nice for this situation. No cables to run, no risk of accidental shock. If your pool area is even moderately sunny, you will get several hours of light after dark. Mine sometimes run until dawn if it was a clear sunny day.
