Help me split my switch

I have a room with one outlet and a built-in lighting fixture. There is one switch that controls power to both.
How can I make it so that the switch only powers the light, leaving the outlet always on?

If the actual cable which feeds the receptacle is in the box with the switch, you could rewire that so that hot goes directly from source, rather than through switch. If the receptacle is daisy chained from the light ( vice versa) there may be no way to do this.

You can effect seperating the receptacle from the liting fixture if-----

There are three 2-wire cables at either the receptacle outlet- box (O-B), or the switch O-B.-------If the switch O-B has only a 2-wire "Feed-In" cable and a 2-wire switch-controlled 2-wire "Feed-Out" cable, the existing connection must remain as is.

You will have to submit a description of the wire-connections in the switch/receptacles O-B's. If one of the 2 O-B's has a 3-wire cable with Black/White/Red conductors,it MAY be possible to effect the seperation.

Good Luck & Enjoy the Experience!!!!!!!!!11
