can someone help with these 2 questions.
1ST-- can i use a battery operated switch from a drill for an switch gone bad in an electric drill.
2nd-- can i run a 5 amp angle grinder from a jumpstart rechargeable 12v dc power supply. this is what instructions read for the 2nd question.

peak power 700 amps
on & OFF SWITCH FOR SAFE OPERATION
HEAVY DUTY MAINTANCE FREE BATTERY
UP TO 50 HRS PORTABLE DC POWER POWER TOOLS,WORK LIGHTS RADIO,ETC.
HEAVY DUTY RUBBER INSULATED 400 AMP BOOSTER CLAMPS WITH #4 GUAGE
CABLE.
CHARGING LEVEL/BATTERY CONDITION GUAGE

12V DC OUTPUT SOCKET WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION.
THE GRINDER I WOULD BE USING IS 5 AMP AC OR DC
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

1. you lost me with the battery operated switch. If you mean a switch from a battery drill in a 120 volt corded drill, probably not. Check the amp and volt rating on the side of the switches.
2. If the angle grinder is a 12 volt grinder then you should be able to use it. I suspect it is a 120 volt grinder and you can not use it.

You cannot use a switch from a battery powered drill on a 120 volt ac one and 12 volts will not run a 120 volt 5 amp angle grinder.
