ground wire

I'm using 1/2 inch PVC for surface wiring in a garage. When using 12 gage wire with a 20 amp breaker, what size ground wire is needed? I assume bare wire is satisfactory to run with the 12 gage.

For a 20 amp breaker you need a 12 gage ground wire. USe an insulated green ground wire.

Note: My recommendation to use a green insulated wire was because I prefer to use insulated wires when running individual wires.

Regardless, 12 gage must be used either way.
